N2R Expands Literacy Access at Rolling Hills Elementary with Book Distribution, Parent Training, and Community Giveaways
Need to Read (N2R), a Florida-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit committed to strengthening early childhood literacy, delivered another powerful community impact through its literacy event at Rolling Hills Elementary. Focused on fostering a love of reading and equipping families with practical literacy tools, the event reached hundreds of students across multiple grade levels.
On February 22, 2023, Need to Read served 451 students with curated books and educational resources to support at-home learning and grade-level literacy development.
Major Accomplishments
- Provided tailored book bundles to 150 Kindergarten and 1st grade students, ensuring the youngest learners received age-appropriate stories designed to build early reading skills.
- Offered curated book selections to students in grades 2–5, empowering them to choose titles that matched their interests and reading readiness.
- Delivered parent training sessions featuring practical, age-appropriate reading strategies families can use to support continued literacy growth at home.
- Hosted an exciting giveaway that brought joy to families with prizes such as gift cards, TVs, bicycles, and additional surprises—strengthening community engagement around literacy.
“Our goal is simple: to put more books in children’s hands and give families the tools to help them succeed,” said a spokesperson for Need to Read. “Rolling Hills Elementary welcomed us with open arms, and together we created an event that truly supports lifelong learning.”
