N2R Brings Literacy Joy to Rosen Preschool with Large-Scale Book Distribution and Pre-Literacy Training

Need to Read (N2R), a Florida-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to strengthening early childhood literacy, delivered a powerful impact at Rosen Preschool with a major literacy event that served 147 young students and their families. The event aligned with N2R’s mission to equip children with early reading readiness skills and support parents and educators in building strong literacy foundations.

On December 14, 2022, every student at Rosen Preschool received a special gift bundle of five age-appropriate books—helping families build home libraries and ensuring children have meaningful access to books during the most critical years of early development.

Major Accomplishments

  • Distributed five-book gift bundles to 147 preschool students, expanding at-home reading opportunities.
  • Hosted an incentive giveaway featuring high-value prizes, including $750 in gift cards, TVs, bicycles, and Universal Studios tickets—bringing excitement and joy to children and their families.
  • Delivered pre-literacy training for faculty and students, ensuring teachers and caregivers are equipped with tools and strategies that support early reading success.
  • Earned praise from the community for demonstrating leadership in childhood literacy—celebrated as a true “literacy superhero” for its generosity and hands-on support.

“Our work is rooted in creating access and opportunity,” said a spokesperson for Need to Read. “By placing books directly in the hands of young learners and equipping educators with valuable literacy tools, we help build strong educational pathways from the very beginning.”

This event is part of Need to Read’s growing, statewide commitment to empowering families with resources, distributing literacy-rich materials, and investing in early childhood development for long-term academic success.
